Jalandhar, October 17: Punjab Thunders showcased their strong potential once again by thrashing Royal Kings USA for the third time in the Wave World Kabaddi League match on Friday in Jalandhar. Raiders and stoppers of both the teams were seen competing very hard to achieve win.
Royal Kings USA won the toss and begun the 1st quarter with the successful raid point. Stop line of Royal Kings USA was in action from the beginning, stopper Harvinder Singh(1), Yadwinder Singh(2) and Jaskaran(1) failed the opponents’ raids and earned points for the team. On the other hand Punjab Thunder tried hard to make the score neck to neck, stopper Sukhmanjeet Singh(1) and Yadwinder Singh(1) earned excellent stop points for the team. Raider Sarbjeet Singh(3) and Talwinder Singh(2) of Punjab Thunders gave a tough competition to Royal Kings USA’s stop line. But Daljeet(3), Kamaljeet Singh(3) made powerful raids and took the lead by 2 points at the edge of Royal Kings USA with the score line 12-14.
The interest and excitement were continued in the 2nd quarter as the raiders and stoppers of both the teams Royal Kings USA and Punjab Thunders were seen struggling to gain the lead with their hard efforts. Technical moves by Gurlal Singh and Balram Singh of Royal Kings USA earned crucial points for their team through 5 & 3 raids respectively, while Talwinder Singh and Sarabjit Singh Nikku of Punjab Thunders were also in fiery mode gaining points for their team through power packed raids. Strong stop line of Royal Kings USA proved beneficial for them as they ended the quarter with the lead of 1. The final score at the end of 2nd quarter was Royal Kings USA 27 & Punjab Thunders 26.
3rd quarter witnessed some tough tassel between Royal Kings USA and Punjab Thunder in race to take the lead at their edge. Stop line of Punjab Thunder made a powerful comeback, Yadwinder Singh(4), Lakhveer Singh Lakha(2) earned wonderful stop points for their team. On the other hand Royal kings USA tried hard to kept the lead by their side, stopper Yadwinder Singh(2), Harwinder Singh(2) and Jaskaran Singh(1), failed the Punjab Thunder’s raiders and earned points for the team. But raider Talwinder Singh(5) and Gurpreet Singh(4) showed the excellent performance and won the lead for Punjab Thunders by 3 points with the score line 40-37.
The last quarter of this very exciting match witnessed various jaw dropping action by the players of both team. Royal King started the quarter with high spirit by in the middle it losses the momentum which costed them a lot. Presenting a strong stop line star stopper of Punjab Thunders showcased wonderful Kabaddi by stopping the 4 and 3 raids respectively of Royal Kings USA. In the end the match team Royal Kings USA were seen under little pressure as their raider including captain Gurlal Singh tried very hard to reach the score, but the Punjab Thunders thrashed Royal Kings USA for the third time in Wave World Kabaddi League. The final score of match was Punjab Thunders 57 and Royal Kings 46.
